Matilda J. Daniels 1933-2025

ANDOVER — Matilda “Tillie” Jane Daniels, 91, went home to be with Our Lord and Savior on Friday, June 6, 2025, at Windsor House of Champion.

Born Oct. 4, 1933, in Hartville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Franklin McCloskey and Laura Doll Crawford. Tillie was a 1951 graduate of the former Williamsfield High School.

She married her beloved husband, Richard Daniels, on April 28, 1978.

For many years, she worked as a medical assistant for Dr. Robert Waite in Kinsman and retired from the Ashtabula Clinic. Strong in her faith, she was a member of Andover First United Methodist Church.

Known for her cleanliness, Tillie always had a clean house and upkept lawn, and enjoyed gardening.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Ann (Francis) Kohrman of Andover, Harold G. “Butch” (Julie) Dillon Jr. of Cortland, Beth Elaine (John) Stefura of Cortland, Gary Thomas Dillon of Andover and Sara Jane (Jim) Denzak of Meldon, New York; stepson, Martin (Patty) Daniels of Cortland; stepdaughter, Melanie (Jeff) Barbe of Mansfield; 11 grandchildren, Megan, Laura, Brent, Brock, Gabby, Alex, Seth, Nick, Josh, Lauren and Rachel; 12 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Sharon Naturale of Canton.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Fred, Joseph and Thomas McCloskey.

Calling hours will be 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, June 16, 2025, at Baumgardner Funeral Home, 134 Prospect St., Andover, OH 44003, immediately followed by the funeral service starting at 2 p.m. Pastor Linda Bradley and Pastor Jason Hockran will co-officiate.

Burial will follow in Hayes Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Andover First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 207, Andover, OH 44003.
