John M. Obermiyer 1969-2025

CHAMPION — John M. Obermiyer, 55, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.

Born June 17, 1969, in Sharon, Pa., John was the son of the late Michael and Hilda Taub Obermiyer. He graduated from Brookfield High School in 1987 and proudly retired from UPS in March 2024, after a dedicated 35-year career.

John was a member of Second Brigade Motorcycle Club for nine years, where he held several positions such as state sergeant of arms and state president. He was also a member of Trumbull County Rod and Gun Club. He was a dedicated Ohio State Buckeyes football fan. As an avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed riding across the country with his SBMC brothers and friends, hunting and relaxing by the water.

Above all, he cherished spending time with his family and wife. He was a devoted husband, stepfather, brother and uncle, and found great joy in being the best dog dad to his Labrador, Willie G.

John lived life to the fullest and poured his heart and soul into everything he did and every friendship he made.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Stephanie Obermiyer, whom he married June 24, 2021; his stepchildren, Joshua Muren and Allie Gray; his brothers, Ken (Trisha) Obermiyer and Scott (Micki) Obermiyer; and his cherished nieces and nephews: Lindsey, Griffin, Michael and Madison Obermiyer, and Avery, Everett, Morgan, Mallory, Brooks and Brody Jessep. He also leaves behind his brothers-in-law, Tommy (Katie) Jessep and Jeff (Stephanie) Jessep; and his father-in-law, Gary Jessep.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Patricia Jessep.
