Gloria Lucente 1940-2025
NILES — Gloria Verhosek Lucente, 85, died Friday, June 6, 2025, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 19, 1940, in Warren, the daughter of Edward and Florence Lazzio Verhosek.
She taught in numerous Catholic schools until 1978 as a nun, then left religious life to follow a career in public school education.
She was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish — Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Niles.
Survivors include a sister, Linda Verhosek; two nephews; and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent, and two brothers.
Private funeral services will be held.
