Richard M. Tortorete 1955-2025
GIRARD — Richard Michael “Rick” Tortorete, 70, passed away Sunday morning, May 25, 2025, at his home.
Rick was born April 11, 1955, in Warren, a son of the late Michael and Antoinette Laprocina Tortorete.
Rick was a 1972 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, where he was an offensive tackle on the 1971 State Championship Football Team. Rick’s love for the game remained with him throughout his life, as he was a coach for the Howland Little Tigers for many years. Many meaningful and treasured friendships came from his coaching years.
Rick had an extensive career at Trumbull Regional Hospital, starting as a physical therapy technician and retiring in the maintenance department after 42 years.
Outside of work, Rick was a dedicated Cleveland sports fan. He enjoyed golfing and taking trips to Las Vegas and Florida with his friends. Most of all, he will be remembered for his big heart, generosity and kindness. Rick cherished his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Rick will always be remembered by his son, Christopher Tortorete of Cortland; sisters, Kathryn (Kenneth) Belanger of Howland and Michele Byrnes of Florida; brother, David (Kelli) Tortorete of Stow; and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Family and friends may visit and pay tribute to Rick 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, at the Peter Rossi & Son Memorial Chapel, 1884 North Road NE, Warren.
A prayer service will follow at the funeral home at 6 p.m.
Private burial will be in All Souls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rick’s name to St. Vincent de Paul Society of Blessed Sacrament Church, 3020 Reeves Road NE, Warren, OH 44483.
