Edward J. Hopkinson 1933-2025
VIENNA — Edward J. Hopkinson, 91, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, surrounded by his family, at Hospice House.
Edward was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Youngstown, a son of Clifford C. and Roseanna Ball Hopkinson.
He was a 1952 graduate of Vienna High School.
For 33 years, Edward was a maintenance worker at ITT Grinnell in Warren before retiring in 1985. After his retirement, he built four homes in Vienna Woods.
He was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, a member of United States Navy Reserve and the American Legion. He also enjoyed camping and traveling.
Edward will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his family: his wife, the former Margaret E. Smith, whom he married Sept. 12, 1952; his children, Linda L. (Buster) Yannon of Vienna, Jeffrey L. Hopkinson of Golden Valley, Arizona, Edward J. (Paige) Hopkinson Jr. of Archdale, North Carolina; and a grandson, Chris (Annie) Yannon, and expecting a great-granddaughter.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Douglas A. Hopkinson and Bryan P. Hopkinson; brothers, Herbert Hopkinson and Floyd Hopkinson; and sister, Beverly A. McNeal.
There will be funeral services at noon Monday, May 19, 2025, with calling hours from 11 a.m. to noon, at Kyle Funeral Homes Vienna Chapel, 4471 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna, OH 44473.
Edward will be laid to rest in Vienna Township Cemetery.
