Cynthia Baskins 1960-2025

WARREN — Cynthia Baskins, affectionately known as “Cindy Girl” and “Pee Wee,” 64, died Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at her residence.

Cynthia was born Nov. 26, 1960, in Jacksonville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Charles Smith and Andra Mary Barnes.

Cynthia was a 1970 graduate of Rayen High School in Youngstown. She cleaned at various places in Warren and was a member of St. James Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was watching Lifetime movies.

Survivors include her husband, Deran Thomas of Warren; her children, Corieannia “Corie” Redd of Columbus, Adrian (Angelena) Baskins, Darron Baskins and Myron Baskins of Warren; siblings, Wendy Hawkins, Romona Baskins and Adrian Meriether; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves Shelley Stokes, a special friend who was like a sister; Jacqulin Peterson, an aunt who was like a mom; and her fur baby, Rosco.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at St. James Church of God in Christ, 1838 Main Ave. SW, Warren, OH 44485, with Pastor Dr. Melvin Howard officiating.

Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warren.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. James Church of God in Christ.
