Frederick C. Fulton Jr. 1944-2025
WARREN — Frederick C. Fulton Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord, Monday, March 31, 2025.
Fred was born to Frederick “Charles” and Clara “Kathleen” Preston on June 1, 1944, in Warren.
He was a graduate of Leavittsburg High School and went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Youngstown State University. A lifelong LaBrae Viking fan, Fred taught at Leavitt Elementary. Some of his favorite memories there included sixth-grade camp, where he served as director. He also enjoyed taking students on many trips to Toronto.
Fred loved Jesus and was a lifelong member of Grace Methodist Church, Warren, where he served in several volunteer capacities over the years. He had a beautiful tenor voice and enjoyed decades of singing in the church choir.
Fred spent happy hours riding his mower, often with his children, and later, grandchildren, on his lap. He enjoyed spending time at Teegarden, hanging out at Pizza Hut with his friends, volunteering with Friends Disaster Service, performing in community theater, listening to music, reading and cheering for his Yankees and Steelers. Most of all, Fred was always there to cheer on his children and grandchildren. He was a dependable, loving and positive example to his three daughters, their husbands and children.
Fred will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 58 years, Mary Kathryn Brantingham, whom he married Dec. 9, 1966. His memory will continue through their daughters, Kelly Fuller (Jim), Erin Littell (Ken) and Melanie Lucas (Alex). He was a treasured Poppy / Poppa to Kathryn (Evan), Meghan, Ian (Samantha), Cassandra (James) Ryan (Allison), Andrew, Ethan, Grayson and Amelia; and great-grandpa to Gannon, Luca and Teddy. His absence will also be felt by his brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Joan Brantingham; as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Charleen Rowan; and his in-laws, Robert and Kathryn Brantingham.
His family is comforted knowing they will be reunited with Fred in Heaven someday.
Please join us in celebrating Fred’s life this Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Grace Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. NW, Warren, where calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon, followed by the noon service. The Rev. Dr. Barry French will officiate.
