Francesco Pizzurro 1951-2025

HUBBARD — Francesco “Frank” Pizzurro, 73, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Boardman Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Frank was born on Oct. 16, 1951, in Sicily, Italy, a son of Giuseppe and Francesca Randazo Pizzurro.

Frank and his family came to the United States in July of 1966, where they settled in Queens, New York. In 1983, they came to Warren, where Frank and his brothers started the famous “Brother’s Pizza.” Frank worked at the Cortland location for many years, until he started Francesco’s in Hubbard. Outside of work, Frank enjoyed gambling and was also a horse jockey for many years. He was a big New York Giants fan.

Most of all, Frank loved and cherished his family and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank will always be remembered by his special friend, Candy Wetzel of Cortland; brothers, Sal, Peter, Angelo (DeAnna) and Joe Pizzurro; sister, Anna Maria Randazo of Sicily; and many loved nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brothers, Antonio “Nino,” and Giovanni Pizzurro.

Frank’s family honored him with a Funeral Mass at St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish – Blessed Sacrament Church.

Entombment was in All Souls Cemetery.
