David J. Gill Sr. 1948-2025

He was born March 8, 1948, in Warren, the son of Robert and Jane Hertua Gill.

David was a 1966 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and employed at the former RTI as a press operator for 47 years, retiring in 2019.

He was a member of St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles and coached softball for many years.

His first wife, Carol Jean Ross Gill, whom he married July 14, 1966, died Dec. 11, 1998.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Theresa Goins Gill, whom he married Oct. 16, 2010; a son, David J. (Gina) Gill Jr. of Niles; a daughter, Christine (Greg) Miller of Niles; three stepdaughters, Jennifer Soqui (Doug Hawley) of North Hollywood, California, Jennifer (Natalie) Fisher of Austintown and Victoria Soqui (Frank La Rusch) of Tampa, Florida; two brothers, Robert (Stella) Gill of Warren and Kevin Gill of Bristol; eight grandchildren, Cody (Jennifer) Miller, Chloe Miller, Sara (Mark) Fuller, David J. Gill III, Minalea Tokes, Jordan, Bentley and Ethan La Rusch; and three great-grandchildren, Harper, Hudsyn and Elizabeth.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Ford.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Pope John XXIII Parish-Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, preceded by a 10:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.
