WHAT: Board of education meeting May 13

PRESENT: Kevin Blair, Dan Denman, Tori Wiltrout, Tom Donaldson and Dan Schwartz

The board:

• Approved Tammi Morrison as the new elementary school principal at Maplewood Elementary on a two-year contract effective Aug. 1 at $95,000. Morrison is a former board member and a former elementary teacher for McDonald schools.

• Approved a shared services agreement with Newton Falls schools for treasurer Merri Smith to split her time as treasurer for both districts effective July 1. Smith will work 2.5 days each week for each district.

• Accepted the retirement of Teresa Craiger, a second-grade teacher, with 33 years of service.

• Set senior graduation for 1 p.m. Sunday at the high school.
