Richard L. Marier 1940-2024
								NILES — Richard L. “Dick” Marier, 84, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2024, at St. Joseph Warren Hospital.
He was born Sept. 19, 1940, in Westbrook, Maine, the son of Leo and Sarah LaBrie Marier.
Richard was a graduate of Westbrook High School. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years, including a tour in Vietnam. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked as a U.S. civil servant in fuels management at Griffiss AFB, New York. He later relocated to the Youngstown Air Reserve Station as fuels manager until retirement.
Richard was a member of Vienna and Point Rock Fish and Game clubs. He looked forward to hunting season and fishing on Lake Erie. He enjoyed woodworking and leather crafting. He had adept carpentry skills and expertly renovated the homes he lived in.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Mary Dorris Marier, whom he married Feb. 26, 1972; two daughters, Nicole Cowen, and her husband, Matthew of Horseheads, New York, and Kristin Riebe, and her husband, Ron of Westerville; and seven grandchildren, Zachary, Matthew and Cecilia Cowen, Michael, Tyler and Ethan Riebe, and Elizabeth Marier.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joseph Marier; and four sisters, Irene, Dorothy, Barbara and Shirley.
Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home, Niles. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery, where Richard will be honored for his military service by the Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.
