Richard D. Knapp 1947-2024
CORTLAND — Richard D. Knapp, 76, died at home with family by his side, Monday, Oct. 28, 2024, following complications of lymphoma of the brain.
After graduating Champion High School, Richard served his country in the U.S. Army. He attended Cortland Church of God. He worked for General Motors for 35 years before retiring. Richard was a hard worker who enjoyed fixing things for people. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix especially if it had a motor. He was a Renaissance man who loved spending time with his family, his cat and tinkering.
Precious memories of Richard live on with his wife of 55 years, Chong Cha; a son, Richard D. Knapp Jr. of St. Petersburg, Florida; a daughter, Anna Spencer Crissman of Toledo; and four siblings, Dixie, Eleanor (Terry) and Raymond (Gayle), all of Champion, and Ramona of Lordstown.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
