Rey was born May 22, 1960, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Lucas Collazo and Rosa Negron. After moving to Youngstown when he was 9, he remained in the Youngstown / Warren area.
He was a 1978 graduate of Choffin Career Center in Youngstown, where he learned the printing trade that he used toward a 25-year career in teaching graphic arts at Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Warren.
During the summers and after retirement, Rey proudly served the Lordstown Police Department and Warren Township Police as a part-time officer.
He enjoyed sports; participating in football, baseball, bowling and softball. He also cheered on the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Indians. Rey spent years riding on his Harley for many miles, with his favorite trip being to the Dragon’s Tail in Tennessee. His closet full of Harley T-shirts attests to his many rides.
