Janice M. Economides 1943-2024
MASURY — Janice Marie Economides, 80, passed into the presence of her Savior, Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, while a patient at Shepherd of the Valley, Liberty.
Janice was born Nov. 4, 1943, in Sharon, Pa., a daughter to Benjamin and Della Giancola Carpenter.
She graduated from Brookfield High School in 1961 and furthered her education in Cleveland where she received an associate degree in phlebotomy. For the next 30-plus years, Janice dedicated her talents alongside Dr. Milton Yarmy, Dr. Kevin Nash and Dr. Joe Zeno.
Janice was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Farrell, Pa., where she was active in various fundraisers and participated in the Society of Greek Ladies. In addition, she was a former committee member of the Brookfield Township Historical District.
In her spare time, she enjoyed shopping. She was a true professional at her craft, as her attire was always on point.
She liked to attend community functions and sporting events with her husband and daughter. They are big supporters of the Brookfield community and school district.
Survivors include her beloved husband of 55 years, George N. Economides, whom she married May 3, 1969; their precious daughter, Nicole “Nikki” Renee Economides of Masury; nephews, Rudy (Diane) Carpenter, Wally (Judy) Carpenter and Bernie (Pam) Carpenter; nieces, Lisa Carpenter-Wyse and Gina Carpenter (Terry); and her extended family, as well as countless friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John Carpenter, Tony Carpenter and Rudolph Carpenter; and in-laws, Nick and Ann Economides.
A time of gathering to honor Janice will be held 2 to 6 p.m., with a Trisagion memorial service at 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2024, in the home of Briceland Funeral Service, located in the historic district of the village green at 379 state Route 7 SE, Brookfield, OH 44403.
A Greek funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2024, at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 1007 Washington St., Farrell, PA 16121.
She will be laid to rest in Brookfield Township Cemetery.
As suggested by her family, memorial contributions can be made to the church.
