William J. Rose 1953-2024

WOODSTOCK, Ga. — William J. Rose, 70, formerly of Niles, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 9, 1953, in Warren, the son of James and Elizabeth McGibbon Rose.

Bill was a 1971 graduate of Niles McKinley High School and was employed for 10 years at McDonald Steel, then at Pacesetter Steel in Marietta, Georgia, for 21 years, retiring in 2003.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Niles, attended Christian Church in Georgia, was a volunteer at the Atlanta Food Bank and enjoyed hunting, fishing, scuba diving and puzzles.

He will be sadly missed by his brother, James “Chip” Rose of Woodstock, Georgia; a nephew Rob Rose; a niece, Anna Asher and her husband, Christian; and a great-niece, Vivian Asher. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Robert Rose.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of the noon funeral service Monday, July 22, 2024, at Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
