Saadat ‘Jimmy’ Abdel-Jalil 1955-2024

LEAVITTSBURG — Saadat “Jimmy” Abdel-Jalil, 68, passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, at The Cleveland Clinic, after battling a long-term illness.

He was born Dec. 9, 1955, in Qarawa Bani Zaid, Palestine, moving to the United States in 1979.

Saadat “Jimmy ” was known from the corner neighborhood store M&A Market, where he spent more than 40 years serving the community.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sr. Fadwa “Annie” Mohammad-Ali; six children, Mahmoud (Latifa) Abdel-Jalil, Yusef (Helwa) Abdel-Jalil, Adhm (Lindsey) Abdel-Jalil, Tukhan (Nisreen) Abdel-Jalil, Suzie (Ismeal) Assad and Suzan (Imad) Elsaghir; and 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mahmoud Abdel-Jalil and Latifa Abdel-Jalil.

A ceremony took place Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, surrounded by family, at the Islamic Garden in Cuyahoga Falls.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society on behalf of Saadat “Jimmy” Abdel-Jalil.

Jimmy will always be remembered for his work ethic, and the love for his family and his customers at M&A. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
