Gina Sacco 1966-2022

She was born April 12, 1966, in Warren, the daughter of Jerry and Matilda Bruno Sacco.

Gina was a 1984 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School and valedictorian of her senior class. She was a 1988 graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree in combined sciences, with an emphasis in chemistry.

She was employed at Thomas Steel Strip for 14 years and at Aptiv, formerly Delphi, for 10 years as an analytical chemist, and also held many patents for various scientific processes.

Gina was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, where she was a festival volunteer, and a member of the American Chemical Society. She enjoyed gambling, shopping, watching mafia movies, and cheering for the Cleveland Indians and Browns, and was very proud of her Italian heritage.

She will be sadly missed by her mother of Niles; a brother, James Sacco of Niles; two sisters, Carmel Sacco of Niles and Jessica Sacco of Niles; an uncle, many aunts and cousins; and her longtime companion, Michael Patton.

She was preceded in death by her father.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
