Thomas M. Burin 1956-2022
BROOKSVILLE, Fla. — Thomas M. Burin, 65, passed away peacefully Saturday, Feb. 12, 2022, at the Sturgill Hospice House in Brooksville, Fla., after a brief battle with an aggressive cancer.
Tom was born Oct. 2, 1956. in Warren, Ohio, to George E. and Emma Timko Burin.
A graduate from Warren G. Harding High School, he continued his studies at Kent State University and became a machinist. After retiring from WCI Steel, Tom relocated to Savannah, Ga., to finish his career as a machinist with Hormel Foods.
Tom is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 44 years, Melinda Glancy Burin; their four children, Sarah (Steven) Zito, Katie (Jacob) Isaacson, Abbey Santiago and Ty (Jenna) Burin; and 13 grandchildren. He will also be missed by his mother, Emma Timko Burin; his big brother, George (Mary) Burin Jr.; and his sisters, Emily and Jan.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, George Burin.
Besides spending time with their family, Tom and Linda loved traveling and camping. They spent the last years between their new home in Florida and traveling throughout the U.S. in their fifth wheel. Tom loved this part of their life and enjoyed sharing it with his grandchildren during their vacations to the beach; his favorite place to spend the day with his wife.
Tom was a friend to all, an amazing son, father and papa and a loving, devoted husband. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial will be held at a later date.
