Robert S. Kleese
WARREN – Robert Scott Kleese, 55, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Robert was born May 11, 1960, in Youngstown, and was the son of the late Edward A. Kleese Sr. and Flora Mae Cafaro Kleese, and had two brothers, Edward and James Kleese.
Robert was a 1978 graduate of Mathews High School and attended Youngstown State University, where he received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in business and accounting.
He was managing general partner of Kleese Development Associates, a company he founded with his brothers, Edward and James, and business partner, Nicholas Perod.
Under his management, Kleese Development owned and operated several local businesses, including KDA Inc., a family-owned oil and gas service provider, and the Park Hotel in downtown Warren. The company also owned and developed real estate properties, including Avalon Estates and Misty Woods developments in Howland.
Robert believed in the importance of his community and took pride in continuing a family legacy of owning and operating local businesses.
Robert was an avid sports fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers and Indians. He cherished his time with his family and frequently traveled with them to his vacation home in Naples, Fla.
He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Mary Ann Kleese, whom he married Nov. 7, 2010; four children, Sarah Graham of Norman, Okla., Kristine (Craig) Burrows of Liberty, Holly (Nathaniel) Wolack of Chicago and Abbey Kleese of Warren; three grandchildren, Brody Belosic, Jack Burrows and Bobbi Claire Burrows; two brothers, Edward J. (Diane) Kleese of Niles and James M. Kleese of Vienna; and seven nieces and nephews. Robert also had a special companionship with his pets and will be missed by his dogs, Lily, Lola and Rico.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ronald Kleese; his stepson, James Graham; and his uncle, Joseph Kleese.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2015, at SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in Warren, with the Rev. Andrew Deskevich officiating. Family and friends may call 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Lane Family Funeral Homes-Madasz Chapel, 6923 Warren Sharon Road, Brookfield.
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Cemetery, 3966 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
