He held various positions when employed by Republic Steel, Packard Electric and Matash Painting Co.

Ru was a professional artist who enjoyed drawing. Among his pastimes were watching the Pittsburgh Steelers play, playing music, trivia and feeding the birds.

Wonderful memories of Ru will be carried on by his family: his daughters, Amy Gardner and Annie (Robert) Burgess; his grandsons, Isiah and Caleb Burgess; his siblings, John (Carmela) Ruman, Carol (Gary) Rotuna, Diane (Tom) Roscoe, Walt Ruman, Terri (Vernon) Foster, Gina (Bob) Miller, Steve (Sandy) Ruman and Renee “Pal” (Mike) Phillips; and his many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Ru were his parents, Walt and Sophie; and his sister, Joyce, who passed in infancy.

His brothers and sisters request that any material tributes be made to This Means War Against Breast Cancer Inc., P.O. Box 223, Southington, OH 44470, or WarAgainstBreastCancer@hotmail.com in support of his daughter, Amy, who is battling breast cancer.

Amy said every night when she said “good night” to her father, she would say, “Dad, I love you,” and his reply was, “I love you, too, you know that.”

Arrangements for Ru were entrusted to the Borowski Funeral Service and Oak Meadow Cremation Services.
