Man gets prison for rape of teen

WARREN — A Niles man who pleaded guilty in May to four felony sex charges dealing with the rape of a 13-year-old in December was sentenced Wednesday to consecutive prison terms totaling 22 to 27.5 years. Frank Mack Smith Jr., 35, of Cherry Avenue, pleaded guilty May 27 to two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of fourth-degree gross sexual imposition. GIRARD — City Council has approved Girard officials participating with other local communities and leaders to extend the Mahoning River Water Trail. Two women plead guilty in separate cases

WARREN — Two women, one from Warren and one from Campbell, pleaded guilty Wednesday to various charges and will be sentenced later. Nina Colbert, 26, of Belvedere Avenue, Warren, pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery, one count of felony burglary and one count misdemeanor domestic violence before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean O’Brien. Pet supplies collected for area agencies

Menards home improvement store in Bazetta is serving as a pet supply collection site through August and September. Donations collected at the store, located at 2015 Wal Mart Drive NE, will be forwarded to an area humane agency. There is a collection box near the exit doors at Menards to place donations.
