NILES — Because of decreased student enrollment in the carpentry apprenticeship program, the Trumbull County Educational Service Center governing board at its June meeting approved a reduction in force of an administrative position. The board cut an assistant coordinator of the vocational apprenticeship program effective July 31. Fiscal Officer Stacy Foster said the cut will save the center $125,000. NILES — A Niles family has been displaced following an early morning fire that ripped through their home Thursday. According to a Facebook post by the city’s fire department, crews were called to a Lawnview Avenue residence around 2:25 a.m. for a reported house fire. They encountered heavy flames involving an attached garage, portions of the home, three vehicles and a trailer.
