Mines Road resurfacing to start Monday

HOWLAND — Motorists traversing a portion of Mines Road should expect delays next week — but not for long. Trumbull County Engineer David DeChristofaro announced the resurfacing of the road in a news release Thursday, which will affect Mines from state Route 46 to Stillwagon Road beginning Monday. The project is anticipated to be completed the week of Aug. 31, and there will be lane restrictions to perform milling, partial depth pavement repairs and resurfacing of the immediate and surface courses of asphalt, followed by pavement markings. Ohio high court dismisses Engler’s abortion ban suit

The Ohio Supreme Court dismissed Trumbull County Domestic Relations/Juvenile Division Judge David L. Engler’s lawsuit seeking to stop abortions in the state. The court ruled 7-0 Wednesday in favor of the state, which filed to dismiss the case. The court dismissed the case without explanation. Data center company will meet with McDonald officials

McDONALD — A company interested in possibly locating a data center in the village will meet with members of council, the administration and the public next month. Mayor Ray Lewis on Wednesday told a crowd of more than 75 people who gathered at the village community room that officials with Oppidan will address the public at a meeting Sept. 15 at McDonald High School.
