WARREN — Vienna Trustee Phil Pegg sought to defend the work of the Trumbull County Water Advisory Board at Tuesday’s Trumbull County Commissioners workshop. The water board’s chairman, Rex Fee, resigned from his position last week, noting the difficulty it had in getting enough members to meet to have a quorum vote. Dog bites woman at Warren shelter

Staff report WARREN — A woman was bitten on her left arm by a dog at a Warren animal shelter earlier this month, according to a Warren police report. The call reporting the serious dog bite came in shortly after 7 p.m. on July 9. Dispatchers on the report noted a second simultaneous call on another line. The initial caller hung up to contact Healthy Hearts and Paws owner Jason Cooke while reporting that the victim had a towel on the injury. No further details on the circumstances or the woman’s condition were released.

‘Mo Musky’ mural will be unveiled Thursday

Staff report WARREN — Drivers crossing the Summit Street bridge may have already begun noticing Warren’s newest resident, “Mo’ Musky,” a 100-foot mural painted by Warren artist Aaron Chine. It overlooks the Mahoning River from the retaining wall at Mahoningside, greeting more than 9,000 motorists each day. The city will unveil the mural at 4 p.m. Thursday. Girard police investigate stabbing at Chesty’s bar

GIRARD — City police are investigating a stabbing outside Chesty’s Blue Collar Tavern on South State Street that sent a man to the hospital. A police report states police were called to the bar early Friday for a fight that started inside the bar with two men verbally arguing and the fight continued outside where witnesses told police it became physical and a man was stabbed by another man A shirtless man found on a sidewalk near an alleyway by the bar had multiple stab wounds on his back and arm, the police report states. Falls places 12-month ban on recovery housing

NEWTON FALLS — Village council has approved placing a 12-month moratorium on new behavioral health, recovery housing, treatment and residential care land uses to allow for more review of zoning codes by the planning and zoning commission.
