Mecca officials wait review of bids for new town hall

MECCA — The planned township hall project was rebid this summer after original bids came in too high, and bids received in August are being reviewed by Phillips Sekanick Architects. Land use planning meeting set in Kinsman

WARREN — The Trumbull County Planning Commission will host the first public meeting as part of the countywide land use planning process at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsman Township administration building, 7890 state Route 5. Sheriff will provide deputies to serve in area school districts

WARREN — Trumbull County commissioners are expected to vote today on contracts involving seven area school districts and the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office enabling sheriff’s deputies to provide School Resource Officers through June 2027. The school districts each will pay the sheriff’s office $83,701.78. The deputies will provide the district’s law enforcement protections during times when the schools are in session. 2 dogs abandoned at park

BAZETTA — Members of the Healthy Hearts and Paws Projects were called out Tuesday to pick up two dogs that were found abandoned at the Mosquito Lake Dog Park. Jason Cooke, CEO of Healthy Hearts and Paws, reported the two dogs were taken to the shelter. He said the small dogs are infested with fleas. Cooke said the volunteer humane department received the call from a park officer who found the two dogs alone at the dog park. Anyone with information about the dogs’ owner or who may have abandoned them is asked to contact the organization’s social media site.
