WARREN -- The Trumbull County Planning Commission will host the first public meeting as part of the countywide land use planning process at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kinsman Township administration building, 7890 state Route 5.
Planning commission officials said the meeting will focus on communities in the northeast portion of Trumbull County, including Bazetta, Fowler, Gustavus, Hartford, Johnston, Kinsman and Vernon townships, Cortland and Orangeville Village.
The countywide land use planning process is being coordinated by the Trumbull County Planning Commission and GIS Man Development on behalf of the Trumbull County Commissioners and is funded through the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Land Use Planning Grant Program.
The project will include an analysis of existing land use plans, community outreach, public surveys and the development of a final action plan with recommendations based on information collected throughout the process.
Residents, elected officials, township and municipal representatives, zoning officials, first responders, planning and zoning commission members and other community stakeholders can attend and provide input. Public participation will play an important role in helping identify priorities and guide the future of land use throughout Trumbull County.
Additional land use planning meetings will be scheduled in other areas of Trumbull County as the planning process continues.
