WARREN — A swearing-in ceremony took place Wednesday at the city municipal building for a newly appointed captain and lieutenant in the Warren Fire Department. Jeremy Rogers was promoted to captain and Kevin Hunt was promoted to lieutenant, with both new roles effective Friday. Rogers was previously a fire lieutenant and Hunt a fireman.

CORTLAND — City Council on Monday approved a 90-day moratorium on underground fiber-optic boring projects while the city develops regulations governing the work.
