WARREN — Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sarah Kovoor sentenced a Warren man to three years in prison Tuesday for drug trafficking offenses. Elijah E. Cofield, 29, Parkwood Drive NW, Warren, received prison and $5,000 in fines after he pleaded guilty June 29 to five counts trafficking a fentanyl-related compound, five counts of trafficking in cocaine and single counts of possession of a fentanyl-related compound, possession of cocaine and having weapons while under disability. Boardman bicyclist undertaking journey around Lake Erie

Boardman cyclist Carl Foote is turning miles into memories and milestones. On Wednesday, he embarked on the Magical Memory Tour (MMT 2026), a 700-mile, two-week bicycle journey around the entire perimeter of Lake Erie. His mission is to raise critical funds and awareness for the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund with 100% of those donations going toward research. Shooting at city apartment hits man

WARREN — A gunshot victim was found at a home in the 2800 block of Parkman Road NW when officers responded there for a shots-fired call Monday afternoon. When officers arrived for the 4:42 p.m. call, they found the victim, a man, who was treated by ambulance personnel and was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital. The location of the incident is an apartment complex. Officers found a crime scene, which was taped off for investigative purposes, and detectives were called out to investigate. Youngstown State University will host a Constitution Day candidate forum 4 to 6 p.m. Sept. 17 in Bliss Hall’s Ford Theater on the YSU campus.
