CFMV awards nearly $1 million to nonprofits

The Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley has awarded $921,603 in its second grant cycle of the year to support nonprofits meeting the needs of local residents. With support from fundholders and the foundation’s discretionary funds, $382,145 was awarded through the CFMV General Grant. LIBERTY — A resident nearly lost thousands of dollars to a phishing link, but the total dollar loss is still unknown. According to a police report, an officer took a call from a woman who said she was scammed over the phone, explaining that she was on her laptop, navigating to her church’s website, when a link popped up on the screen.
