Officials plan to dedicate road to family

WARREN TOWNSHIP — Trustees plan to honor a township family whose sons all excelled in athletics by having a road named “Sixth Street Browner Way.” Trustee Ed Anthony said plans are underway to host a ceremony Saturday to honor the Browner family. Plans are to designate a portion of Fifth Street from Tod Avenue SW to the Warren city limits as “Browner Way” and dedicate a sign. Hubbard police probing theft of ATM from store

HUBBARD — City police are investigating the theft of an ATM from the main lobby of Burlews Fresh Market on North Main Street A police report states a break-in alarm rang at 4 a.m. Friday and when officers arrived, they found a door to the store kicked in with glass on the floor inside. Police are reviewing video surveillance to identify possible suspects. Last month, Brookfield police responded to a similar incident of the theft of an ATM from a Sparkle Market where a window to the store was found smashed out.

Liberty 250 celebration looks to honor roots

LIBERTY — Sharon Wathen said she did not grow up in Liberty, but has lived in the area for 50 years. However, she admitted there was plenty she didn’t know about the township, “I figured if that was the case for me, it had to be the case for others,” said Wathen, one of the Liberty Township Heritage Tour’s organizers.
