NILES — The Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office TAG Drug Task Force acted on a pair of warrants with the Niles Police Department’s special response team, collecting thousands in cash, firearms and drugs.

According to a news release, the task force completed searches in the 500 block of South Main Street in Niles and the 1400 block of West Avenue in Warren on Wednesday, which were the result of a lengthy drug investigation at both locations.

Investigators recovered approximately 3,600 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 609 grams of cocaine, 265 grams of fentanyl, 81 grams of heroin and approximately $22,000 in cash, as well as 11 firearms, miscellaneous ammunition and two kilogram narcotics presses and bulletproof vests. Charges will be filed at a later date pending lab results and the investigation is ongoing, according to the news release.
