Women’s History Month events set in Valley
Women’s History Month is in March. Various events in the Mahoning Valley are planned to celebrate the works and achievements of women.
• Through March 31 — The Struthers Library, 95 Poland Ave., will host “Women’s History Month Dress Up and Learn.” Costumes of influential women throughout history will be available. Children can dress up and have a picture taken. Informational sheets on each of these women also will be available.
• Today — HERstory Trivia Challenge 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the DeBartolo Hall atrium at Youngstown State University. The event is a fast-paced, team-based trivia showdown happening over lunch. Guests will test their knowledge of trailblazers, pop culture icons, social movements and the moments that shaped women’s history.
• March 19 — Women’s LeadHERship Summit 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles. The event, hosted by Valley Economic Development Partners, spotlights the strong, powerful and trailblazing women leading the Valley. For tickets and registration, visit valleyedp.com/summit2026!
• March 21 — Trumbull County Women’s History celebration at 11 a.m. at DiVieste’s Banquet Center, Warren. Ann McEvoy will portray Mary Harris Jones, who was an Irish immigrant who became the “mother” to the downtrodden American worker. There will be a basket raffle and 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased by calling 330-719-9345.
• March 25 — “Taste the Past: Remember the Ladies” with Abigail Adams at noon at the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, 151 W. Wood St., Youngstown. The program features Abigail Adams reenactor Kim Hanley, who will discuss women’s roles in the American Revolution. Refreshments will be inspired by 18th-century recipes. The event is presented in collaboration with America250 events.
• March 27 — Clothing Swap and Resource Table, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the third floor of DeBartolo Hall at YSU. Attendees may exchange clothing and learn about campus and community resources.
• March 27 — Open Mic Night, 6 to 8 p.m. at DOPE Cider House and Winery, Youngstown. This event is designed as an evening of creative expression and community engagement.
