Victim in fatal motorcycle crash ID’d
BROOKFIELD — A motorcyclist was killed and his passenger was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash around 6:15 p.m. Sunday on state Route 82 at Addison Road.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said David A. Rice, 62, and passenger Angeleena Medovich, 18, both of Sharpsville, Pa., were traveling west on Route 82 riding a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. Elspeth A. McKeag, 87, of Hermitage, Pa., was operating a 2009 Nissan Murano eastbound on Route 82.
The patrol report states McKeag attempted to turn left onto Addison Avenue and crossed the westbound lanes of the divided highway. During the turn, her vehicle was struck on the right side by the motorcycle.
The patrol said Rice was pronounced dead at the scene by the Trumbull County Coroner’s Office. Medovich sustained serious injuries and was transported to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.
McKeag was transported to Sharon Regional Medical Center, where she was treated and released.
The patrol said neither Rice nor Medovich were wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
