9 to be inducted into League of Women Voters Hall of Fame

YOUNGSTOWN — Nine local women will be inducted into the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown Women’s Hall of Fame.

The Women’s Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding women who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, professional excellence and a lasting commitment to improving our communities.

The Women’s Hall of Fame ceremony will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 19 at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

The 2026 inductees are:

• Marie Dockry, governing board member for the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio and the Mahoning County Career & Technical Center.

• Amanda Fehlbaum, associate professor of sociology and director of the Women’s and Gender Studies at Youngstown State University.

• Julie Green, director of the Trumbull County Planning Commission.

• Lisa Lee Kohler, community leader and volunteer, and president of the League of Women Voters of Greater Youngstown.

• Jessica Lev, associate general counsel for Phantom Fireworks, which is headquartered in Warren.

• Sarah Lown, director of public finance for the Western Reserve Port Authority.

• Brandi Shamara Parker, assistant director of Outreach, Axess Family Services.

• Cheryl Saffold, president of Community Concerned Citizens II, a neighborhood group in Warren. Saffold also is the city’s former 6th Ward councilwoman.

• Jorine Stone, community leader and past president of the American Association of University Women’s Youngstown chapter.
