Water main break affects Youngstown, Boardman and Liberty
YOUNGSTOWN — The Youngstown Water Department issued a drinking water boil advisory Sunday evening because of a major water main break.
This impacts parts of Youngstown, as well as Boardman and Liberty townships. While there is no current evidence of contamination, the advisory is being issued as a precaution because break may allow illness-causing organisms to enter the water system.
Customers should bring tap water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before use, or use bottled water for drinking, making ice, preparing food, washing dishes and brushing teeth.
Customers may also experience low water pressure, temporary loss of water or changes in water quality (such as discoloration).
