WHAT: City council meeting Monday

PRESENT: Reynald Paolone, John Moliterno, Thomas Grumley, James Clark, Tod Latell, Lily Martuccio, Wes Steiner and Mayor Mark Zuppo

ABSENT: Keith Schubert

Council:

• Approved committee chairman appointments: Moliterno to finances and lakes; Latell to economic development; Schubert to buildings and grounds; Clark to health and safety; Grumley to streets and sidewalks, and employee welfare and rules; Martuccio to utilities and theater; and Steiner to zoning.

• Requested legislation be prepared for the Jan. 26 meeting to put a purchase and expenditure approval policy in place for all city departments.

• Scheduled caucus sessions for 6:30 p.m. Jan. 26 on city finances and the status of Girard Lakes mandated improvements, and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 9 on streets and sidewalks. The zoning committee will meet at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Girard Free Library during a neighborhood watch meeting.
