Niles man found guilty in neighbor assault
WARREN — Kyle J. McMahan, 25, of St. John Avenue, Niles, was convicted last week of second-degree felonious assault after a two-day trial in the courtroom of Trumbull County Common Pleas Judge Ronald J. Rice.
McMahan assaulted a Niles neighbor who had set off fireworks near his home during a July 4, 2025, holiday celebration.
The neighbor testified to being struck on the side of the head with a baseball bat, and he is still suffering from the consequences of the head injury and concussion, according to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s office.
Sentencing will take place after McMahan completes a background investigation conducted by probation officers. The defendant could face anywhere from two to 12 years in prison.
