Liberty police seeking hit-and-run info
LIBERTY — Township police are still seeking information from the public about a Christmas Eve hit-and-run crash.
According to a police report, an officer was called to Churchill Hubbard Road near the police department in reference to a woman, Ruth Raver, who was struck by a vehicle.
Raver was checked out by the officer and the township’s fire department, who didn’t observe any fresh abrasions, scratches or road rash, but noticed she appeared to be in discomfort. The report states Raver said she was walking across the street to go to church when she was struck by a vehicle on her right side, but she was unable to provide any additional information at the time.
Individuals around the scene said they did not see anything, according to the report.
The report states Raver was transported to the hospital and the officer went there to speak with Raver, but he was unable to do so.
Doctors said they observed what appeared to be road rash on Raver’s ankle, but could not say anything else. Police encourage people with information to contact the police department.
