WARREN — Trumbull County Clerk of Courts employee Vanessa Clark had bond set at $5,000 during her arraignment Tuesday afternoon before Trumbull County Common Pleas Court Judge Sarah Kovoor.

Clark, 59, of Niles, is due back in court Jan. 27 on one charge of theft in office and multiple counts of tampering with records. She was indicted on the charges Dec. 10 and Kovoor issued an arrest warrant for Clark on Dec. 16 after Clark failed to appear for arraignment.

Clark is an employee of the Auto Title Department and Clerk of Courts Randy Law placed her on unpaid administrative leave after she was indicted. Prior to that, she was on paid leave.

The offenses took place May 1, according to court documents. Theft in office, a fourth-degree felony, is punishable by up to 18 months in prison. Tampering with records is a third-degree felony, with each count punishable by up to three years in prison.

No specifics on the allegations against Clark have been released.
