WHAT: Board of education meeting Dec. 15

PRESENT: Shawn Chrystal, Janine Hamilton, Hans Kirr, David Malone and Kara Morgan

The board:

• Approved FMLA leave for Doan McKinney from Jan. 5 to March 20.

• Approved FMLA leave for Nicholas Vitale from Dec. 11 to Dec. 19.

• Approved the 2025-26 substitute teacher daily rate as $115, effective Oct. 1, 2025.

• Approved a request to administer 2026-27 state tests in English / language arts and / or mathematics for students in the third grade.

• Approved a memorandum of understanding with Belmont College for the College Credit-PLUS Dual Enrollment Program for the 2026-27 school year.

• Approved granting a one-year limited contract to Dawn Gasser as an educational aide, effective Aug. 1, 2025, through July 31, 2026. Gasser will be paid $16.61 per hour.

• Approved granting a one-year limited contract to Brittani Sample as a lunchroom and recess aide, effective Aug. 1, 2025, through July 31, 2026. Sample will be paid $12.38 an hour.

• Approved Michael Meser, Joseph Nidel and David Paige as licensed substitutes for the 2025-26 school year.

• Accepted a donation of $2,646 from Donor’s Choose for the purchase of instructional technology, sports and equipment, educational kits and games, books and classroom basics for the district’s classrooms.

* Accepted a $6,000 donation from the Liberty High School Sports Hall of Fame for athletic weight equipment, split as $5,000 from the Rob and Alyssa Briggs Fund and $1,000 from Charlie Dann.

• Accepted a donation of a 40-watt Crate guitar amplifier, valued by the donor at $450, for the Liberty High School Jazz Band.
