Warrant issued for man accused of threatening mother
Staff report
LIBERTY — Township police are looking for a Girard man accused of threatening his mother.
A warrant was issued for Michael Bunea, 38, on a charge of domestic violence through Girard Municipal Court on Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, an officer responded to a James Lane residence in response to threats, where a woman said her son, Bunea, was threatening her over text. The report states they were arguing when Bunea allegedly texted her, “Keep texting me back and find out you don’t have a trailer or car,” and the woman believed he was insinuating that he would set fire to them, supposedly making threats to do so in the past.
The report states Bunea allegedly added that he would “have her come up missing” and “put her face on a milk carton.”
The woman said she wished to pursue criminal charges against him and would sign a domestic violence affidavit against him.
The report states that the officer reviewed the texts between her and Bunea and saw a text where he was talking about the woman not having a trailer or car, as well as a deleted message that the woman alleged involved her going missing.
Due to domestic violence convictions in 2005 and 2011 out of Warren Municipal Court, found via Bunea’s computerized criminal history, the officer issued a warrant request for a domestic violence charge.
