Ribbon cutting set for bike trail in Bristol Township

BRISTOL TOWNSHIP — A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 2 p.m. today for the re-opening of the Western Reserve Greenway Bike Trail in Bristol Township after a four-year closure.

Trumbull County MetroParks Executive Director Zachary Svette said the $372,746 project was funded by the Appalachian Community Grant Program, through the Ohio Department of Development in partnership with Eastgate Regional Council of Governments.

Svette said the project consisted of the slide repair, pavement restoration and fence installation.

The event will take place at the Baughman Creek Bridge on the Western Reserve Greenway, approximately half a mile north from the Oakfield Trailhead,1328 Hyde-Oakfield Road, North Bloomfield.
