WHAT: Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting Monday

PRESENT: Melissa Baker, Tim Calderone, Mary Cunningham, Mauro DiVieste, Jodi Glaser, Kimberly Hynes and Larry Larson

The board:

• Heard from Superintendent Ed Stark about concerns he has heard from people on losing SNAP benefits and what alternatives can be found to assist them locally. He said different ideas will be reviewed.

• Hired Christopher Heinz as a facilities manager effective Oct.13, replacing Harlan Jones, who resigned.

• Hired Chelsey Shipley as a human resources assistant effective Sept. 15 to replace Dennise Lindasy, who retired.

• Hired Kristen Taylor as operations manager for the Fairhaven Foundation.

• Approved placing various items such as motor vehicles acquired for use of county officers and departments, equipment, tools or supplies that are not needed on an internet auction site.

• Rescheduled the next meetings to Nov. 17 and Dec. 15 because of the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

• Discussed hosting an open house of the newly remodeled offices and rooms at the Tomaski Center off North Road in Niles for early December.
