WHAT: Board of education meeting Sept. 17

PRESENT: Ronda Bonekovic, Sarah Kurpe, Derek Mihalcin, Jerry Necastro and Melissa Sydlowski

The board:

• Approved the disposal of 38 books from the school library as they are outdated or damaged beyond repair.

• Accepted a donation of elementary school supplies from Dollar Tree, valued at $625.

• Approved the following breakfast and lunch prices for the 2025-26 school year: Breakfast for all grades, free; second breakfast for all grades, $1.50; lunch for all grades, free; Brookfield Elementary second lunch, $2.60; middle and high school second lunch, $2.90 and middle and high school extra entrees, $2.50.

• Accepted Marlena Blatt’s resignation as a Brookfield Elementary educational aide.

• Approved a one-year limited contract for Taylor Manners as a Brookfield Elementary educational aide, effective Sept. 8, at a rate of $15.61 an hour.

• Approved hiring Dakota King as a bus driver, effective Sept. 17. He will be paid $19.55 an hour.

• Approved appointing Kristen Foster as the Superintendent Pro Tempore for the 2025-26 school year.
