Californian man to face trial in crash that injured three
WARREN — A jury trial has been scheduled for a Californian man facing felony charges resulting from a June crash that injured three people in Warren.
Douglas Bressler Jr., 21, of Fremont, California, will stand trial Dec. 9 before Judge Cynthia Westcott Rice in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, records show.
The trial date was set Wednesday.
Bressler faces an aggravated vehicular assault charge with alcohol specification after police say he crashed his Ford 500 into two vehicles and a motorcycle at West Market Street and Parkman Road NW on June 13.
A police report states Bressler, who is under 21, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.149 nearly twice the legal limit and admitted drinking. Body camera video showed him throwing a can of Twisted Tea from the vehicle, officers said.
The three other drivers were taken to hospitals. Bressler had previously faced misdemeanor OVI and driving under suspension charges.
