City police investigating shooting of 11-year-old

WARREN — Warren police are investigating a shooting that left an 11-year-old boy injured Wednesday night at a Roosevelt Street NW residence.
According to a police report, officers responded to the scene about 9:54 p.m. Wednesday, following reports of a felonious assault involving a firearm.
The shooting occurred at a home in the 300 block of Roosevelt Street.
The young victim, whose identity remains confidential, was transported to St. Joseph Warren Hospital by emergency medical services for treatment of injuries sustained in the shooting. The extent of the boy’s injuries was not disclosed in the report, but police confirmed he was the focus of the assault.
Officers recovered 11 shell casings from the front yard of the residence, which were logged as evidence and stored in the police evidence room. The home’s exterior window and siding were also damaged during the shooting, according to the report.
The boy’s guardian was present at the scene along with several residents. Police have not released details about suspects, listing two unknown individuals in connection with the shooting.
