WHAT: Board of education meeting Monday
PRESENT: David Mahan, Patricia Fisher, John Pitts, Jim Scher and Aaron Abrahamson
The board:
• Approved hirings for the new school year, including Kim Luckett as secretary at the middle school, Anthony Meyer as varsity head baseball coach, Heather Cimmento as a part-time food service worker and Danielle Hill as intervention specialist at the elementary school.
• Approved Sheryl Cozad for additional secretarial hours worked in the summer of 25.25 hours.

Lordstown
WHAT: Board of education meeting Aug. 13
PRESENT: Cheryl Kistler, Niki Reid, William Catlin, Rebekah Conn and Tracie Allen
The board:
• Heard from Superintendent Greg Bonamase projects completed over the summer included new student lockers at the high school, removal of old lockers at the elementary school and a new sensory room placed in the space for academics, and a new STEM / Discovery Room at the high school.
• Heard from Bonamase that seventh- and eighth-grade students will attend a new pilot woodshop program offered in the district by the Trumbull County Educational Service Center.
• Approved an agreement with the Lordstown Apple Cider Festival committee for the annual festival Sept. 12-14.
• Approved an agreement with Cadence Care Network for behavioral health support for students.
• Approved an agreement with the Trumbull County Combined Health District for school building usage in the event of a large-scale health emergency.
• Approved Conn as delegate and Reid as alternate to the Ohio School Boards Association annual meeting Nov. 17.
