Kent motorcyclist killed in Braceville crash
BRACEVILLE — A Kent man died Friday night after his motorcycle crashed into an SUV at the intersection of state Routes 5 and 534.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol said Colin Conklin, 21, was westbound on Route 5 just before 9 p.m. on a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle when he struck a 2007 Jeep Commander that was eastbound.
The Jeep, driven by Reuben Byler of Orwell, was attempting to turn left onto Route 534 when it was struck by Conklin’s motorcycle, a patrol report states.
Conklin was taken to University Hospital-Portage County in Ravenna, where he later died from his injuries.
He was wearing a helmet, the patrol said.
Byler was not injured. The crash is still under investigation.
