Burghill man pleads guilty to charges in child porn case
WARREN — A Burghill man pleaded guilty Thursday to eight counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, all second-degree felonies, in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court, authorities said.
George Langley, 20, of state Route 609, Burghill, entered his plea before Judge Sean J. O’Brien, substituting for Judge Ronald J. Rice.
The defendant, currently in custody, has no prior convictions noted in court records, but each charge carries a potential eight-year sentence.
Langley awaits sentencing pending a probation department background investigation. Upon sentencing, he will be classified as a Tier 2 sexual offender, requiring biannual registration with the sheriff’s office for 25 years.
Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutor Gabriel Wildman, head of the county’s Child Pornography / Cyber Abuse Division, in a statement talked about the importance of task force collaboration.
“These tips are vital to stopping exploitation and holding offenders accountable,” Wildman said.
According to a police report, the investigation stems from a September 2024 cyber tip received by Howland police from the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, flagging the defendant’s electronic devices.
A search of his Burghill home uncovered additional child pornography, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
