Warren woman pleads guilty to shooting man

WARREN — A Warren woman pleaded guilty Thursday to a felonious assault charge in a shooting that left a man injured, ensuring a mandatory prison sentence due to the use of a firearm.

Jasmine S. L. Dawkins, 31, of Maryland Street NW, Warren, appeared before Judge Sean J. O’Brien, who was substituting for Judge Ronald J. Rice in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

She admitted to a second-degree felony charge of felonious assault, which carried a mandatory three-year gun specification.

The case stems from an April 15, 2025, incident investigated by Warren police, in which a man was shot in the right arm and required surgery.

Because a gun was used in the crime, Dawkins faces a mandatory prison term.

Her sentencing will occur after a background investigation by probation officers.

Starting at $3.23/week.
